A reader asked me recently how I was going with my cloth nappy journey and I can reply that one of the best decisions I have ever made as a parent was to choose to use modern cloth nappies. I am really passionate about cloth and I love wrapping Bens bottom in them each day. I promise to post more about my journey and share the brands and styles I have come to love the most soon!
Today however, I would like to share a minor 'issue' that I have discovered with using cloth nappies. The style of most babies and toddlers pants and overalls today just don't fit over some brands of cloth nappies. Trackpants don't seem to be a problem, but I have found cord or denim style pants really don't fit comfortably. I have found making pants from tops to work really well as I can customise them based on already great fitting pants, but I wanted to try something new. That's when I found the pattern download for Big Butt Baby Pants over at Made by Rae. These are roomy and a little stylish too!
I made these pants from soft denim that I bought from Spotlight and I upcycled a boy's shirt for the back panel and cuff trim. I found the pattern easy to follow and quick to sew up.
It is getting harder to photograph our little man...we are also celebrating Ben's first steps! Our little baby boy is growing up!
